Yup, he's already in the center.

Was the Right this unhinged with regard to Clinton?

Because he was successful and he didn't do what they wanted. That's basically it.

I feel much better after reading this post.

For all of DanS and Drake's attemtps to jinx the results, it has been more than offset by the perpetually wrong predictions of O.

          Thanks.

Accept for beating on Clinton just because he was a democrat, a lot of republicans didn't mind him that much since he was basically a republican at heart. I even voted for him at one point.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

The problem with Clinton wasn't his fiscal policies, which were really the policies of the conservative congress. The problem with Clinton was everything else he did. How quickly people forget his dealings with the Chinese as an example.

I think Obama is pretty similar, really. The progressive wing of the Democratic party is rip**** mad at him for a variety of reasons (compromises on healthcare reform, war policy, state secrets policy, wall street "reform" etc).

Yet my Tea Partier co-worker steadfastly refers to him as the second coming of Stalin. I'm not exaggerating. He said Obama is just like Stalin. He wants to give capitalism a little push (off the cliff), you see, so he can then enact his Marxist vision.

This rhetoric is all over the place.

I don't think Obama has an ounce of spending restraint in his body.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Who is the last President who did? Bush the Elder? Carter? Ford?

                        edit for clarity:

Even if Obama was fiscally cautious at heart, given the situation at the start of his Presidency we might not know that (based on policy). Fiscal restraint was not a great idea at the time. If he is a 2-termer, we'll find out for sure.

Obama is the second coming of stalin. Just because progressives are mad at him for not going far enough doesn't change the fact that he's the most radical president that I can think of in recent history. Also, if he felt like he could go further, he would. You don't hang out with people like Van Jones and all the other commies and not be one yourself. You are who you associate with, and if you look at who Obama associates himself with and surrounds himself with, it's obvious. That's why Obama is not going to move to the center.

You call it crazy, but none of you ever say why it's crazy. If you hang out with a bunch of gangsters all the time and you call them friends and you appoint them as your advisers, would it be crazy to say that you are also a gangster? Pretty simple logic here. Then again, the left has never been known for logic and instead relies on emotional appeal, hypotheticals, and agreement of the masses as a norm. i.e. They just say it's crazy over and over without actually ever saying why or refuting the evidence, relying purely on everyone else agreeing that it's crazy to even think of it.
