After reading this comment I don't feel like figuring out what this thread is about.
Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.
The simple suggestion of a true change scandalizes and terrifies modern man. -Nicolás Gómez Dávila
After reading this comment I don't feel like figuring out what this thread is about.
It was a self-glorification thread by KH which ended appropriately with discussion of toilets and rectal bleeding.

When American's travel to Europe they expect historic sites and breathtaking views. What they don't expect are toilet troubles. As opposed to the standard American toilet where one sits and does their business, across Europe you will find a European Toilet (also known as a Squat Toilet, Turkish Toilet or Turkish Loo). Basically, a porcelain (sometimes aluminum or stainless steel) trough set into the ground with a hole and two foot treads, as opposed to sitting down, one is meant to squat and aim well. For many unaccustomed American's, having to balance and evacuate do not go hand in hand. Not to mention if you have taste tested the local libations, taking aim, might prove more difficult yet. Don't fear, a few simple steps will have you mastering the European Toilet in no time.

And I already showed a picture of a confirmed toilet in Switzerland.

Offenburg - A woman who got her leg stuck in a squat toilet after slipping on the floor had to endure a three-hour rescue ordeal, police in the German town of Offenburg said on Monday.
The 34-year-old had lost her balance as she was trying to leave the toilet and got her foot stuck in the floor-level lavatory opening.
When she called the police on her mobile, she told them she was stuck knee-deep in the toilet and couldn't move her leg an inch.
An intricate rescue operation ensued.
The fire brigade unsealed the toilet from beneath in an attempt to push the woman's leg up, but every attempt to dislodge her was met with a cry of pain, even after a partial anaesthetic.
The officers eventually ripped the entire lavatory unit out of the ground and cut the woman free with a saw. The hapless woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries. (dpa)

Having ACTUALLY BEEN TO SWITZERLAND, I can tell you that I didn't see a single toilet of that kind in all my time there.
That's because they have normal toilets for American tourists.

1) I'm not an American
2) I wasn't a tourist
3) I didn't stay at a hotel
Canada isn't in North America?
Regardless, maybe parts of Europe are modernizing?

First off, "American" used without modifiers or explicit context referring to the whole hemisphere is construed by virtually everybody to mean "somebody from the United States of America".
Secondly:
Honestly, maybe there exist such toilets in some places, but they certainly aren't prevalent.
Albie, you need to realize that claiming ignorant things makes you look ignorant...
