May I ask why non-US? I'll try to dig something up, anyway such studies
are messy since its hard to make sure the drugs in question work diffrenetly
than older drugs that people where selected for in the past.

Non-US because in the US crack was AFAIK widespread only among the
Blacks. It would be interesting to see, for example, who smoked opium back
in its hayday in East Asia.

This is true. However what about the rate of that future growth of living standard? Also suppose our average IQ slips below the point where we can consistently use contraceptives? Classic malthusian trap if we don't find a way to break down complex tasks and especially break down the process of breaking down complex tasks into simpler bits fast enough as the average IQ falls.

I've seen Idiocracy a while back and frankly I think it exaggerates the true
observation that smart people tend to have few kids. I don't think that world's
intelligence is likely to decrease into oblivion. I mean, the average might go
somewhat down, but there's definitely a bottom and I don't think it's that low.
Dumbness is not a reproductive advantage.

French and Dutch: nickname for someone of swarthy appearance or for an unruly person, or for someone who had taken part in a Crusade, from Old French sarrazin ‘Saracen’ (compare Italian Saraceno). This word came into French via Latin and Greek from a Semitic term, perhaps akin to Arabic sharq ‘sunrise’, ‘east’, from sharaqa ‘to rise’.
You guys have good ears. Never made that connection before.

It is very common for geniuses to not breed, but still geniuses never stopped popping out from non genius parents.

I don't think you realize how low the bottom is.

One could argue that as the mean IQ dropped that services would begin
to break down and inteligence would once again become advantageus.
We established so far this hasn't happened and isn't likley to happen due
              to regular economic growth.

What really scared me a week or so was a nightmare about this. In the dream it was actually possible to break down complex things more and more and more keeping the society as a whole functional despite the average slide downwards with no limit. Humans evolved into less and less inteligent if still trainable forms all the while keeping their civlization as a whole working pretty well.

At the end of the dream "humans" which had turned into larger versions of mole rats still had mines, farm, computers even farms but the whole society was run purley on instinct and automated systems passed down generation to generation with computer programs representing just another layer of selection on top of mems and genes and varius hives of machines tended by the rats competed with each other.

The dream was of course absurd, but the underlying principle, the dehumanization the slip from sentience into being just regular animals again was to me just as skin crawling as the end of humanity being outcompeted by genetically enhanced poshumans or AIs.

Come to think of it maybe I should write a SF story about this!

You have dreams about this IQ stuff? May I suggest a psychotherapist?

Just one dream. I usually have at least one or two nightmares and one elevating dream about whatever obsession is stumble upon (I go through them about every 18 months).

You have 1.5 year-long obsessions like this IQ obsession? Are you an aspberger?

The lenght varies. Sometimes It lasts a few weeks the longest one was about 2 years. This is however counting the entire lifespan. As the old obsession slowly dies I get another one, so I can have about 2 at the same time. Logically the sample isn't really big since I'm not that old so I have no idea how this will develop over the decades.

The only time I didn't have one was when I was depressed, I therefore don't bother worrying about them, I only worry if I don't seem to have one.

Assburgers usually have more insight to their obsessions than Hera does.
