BP was down 9.71% today on a generally down day for the market. It's been pretty volatile. One could definitely play the swings though they are inter-day with a lot of price movement occurring in after and pre-market trading. That's not the best situation for a small investor trying to day trade the swings though there is definitely money to be had despite the long-term outlook.

Anyone playing any strategy with regards to BP? Anyone buying or shorting?

If one thinks long and hard about the uses of oil other than transportation, the externalities become far greater. Plastics and land fills, fertilizers and nitrate pollution etc.

I made a 5.7% return buying this morning and selling now. Unfortunately, I missed most of the day's gains because I don't think my broker allows me to set sell limit orders contingent on purchases (I put my buy orders in last night and intended to sell at 32 but had to do it manually or else risk shorting the stock at 32 if the price didn't drop to my buy limit). If anyone knows how to do this on thinkorswim, I would appreciate it.

I have a feeling shares are going to drop in the AM so I shorted a few shares and set a buy limit back down to 30. Hopefully, I will be able to rinse and repeat.
