We should not eat meat or seafood because of endangered species and over killing/fishing. But we should also stop eating plants, vegetables, and fruits because clearing land for farms and orchards result in loss of natural environments and chemical runoffs.

I don't need to go to spartan extremes to make my life perfectly consistent with all of my principles in order to permit myself to speak up about my concerns on certain issues.
I don't see how my eating chicken for example, can risk putting the bald eagle back on the endangered species list. Or how my eating steaks or hamburgers from cattle can contribute to wiping out the population of elephants.
