  • New approach for BP: Focus on them creating one of the largest pieces of art in the world.

I find this to be beautiful. If an artist painted this, it'd be brilliant.

    • Nothing like callous joking to show your concern.

      • Shell is so much smarter than BP these days, polluting mainly third world countries like Nigeria where no-one cares or has enough weight to get things improved.

It's better than everyone 'showing concern'. No one cares who is concerned. What's done is done, they'd better fix it,and what else is left to be said?

I'd rather make observations such as the beauty of the image than make bandwagon calls to lynch the BP executives who probably had **** all to do with this.

          • Also, it might develop into a future tourist attraction, a much needed alternative source of income for those who work in a field that up to now was based on a somewhat intact environment.

            • I want BP to clear it up, so it can get back to creating shareholder wealth (aka my pension).
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

I bet some of the splattered blood from the genocide in Rwanda made some interesting, beautiful art work.

                      • They're both crises of enormous magnitude. The oil spill has cost hundreds of people their livliehood and may compel many of them to relocate. It is also going to be a huge ecological loss of natural resources, environment, fauna, and flora.

The Rwanda genocide was another crisis of enormous magnitude. Hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women, and children were slaughtered. Countless numbers of others were forcibily relocated, or fled en masse.

I think making callous jokes like what you did is just inappropriate, regardless of what type of crisis or disaster we're talking about.

It's funny that I haven't heard you say a single thing about the men who died on the rig, but the sight of oil sitting on water gets you all hot and bothered.

                          Yeah, it's a bad deal, but if you can't joke about it, **** you. Life's a *****.

The people whining about all of the marine life dying here probably go home and have sushi and chow on nice, juicy steaks while calling for the head of executives who played no direct role in the disaster to begin with. It's pathetic.

Oh my god. I don't see any hypocrisy in having sushi or a steak (which I happen to enjoy both) and still being concerned about the envrionment and wildlife. It's all about a balanced management of our natural resources.

Some joking is fine - like parodies of BP and their reps because some of their reactions to this crisis was just dumb. One of the reps from BP said, "I just want my life back." I found that remark deplorable - it's not about YOU jackass; it's about the thousands of people living in the gulf who need THEIR life back.

Balanced management? Anyone who eats seafood isn't a fan of balanced management of natural resources. Apparently you've no frickin idea how bad overfishing has become.

All of those people who shed tears over the death of wildlife and then eat fish and meat are hypocritical.

Joking is only fine if it is anti-BP. Admit it.
