Let's start:

1) "Fairness". Doesn't exist.
2) At no point have I claimed that governments should charge any less for extraction rights than it would take to clear the market. To do so would harm me individually (as my equity holdings are basically the market, while I am a member of the public) as well as reducing efficiency (by creating rent-seeking incentives)
3) A profit tax both reduces efficiency as well as government revenues relative to a per-unit royalty set at the market-clearing rate
4) I don't care about ruling anything. I like money far more than I like power.
5) I'm not particularly a pencil neck, and am almost certainly in better physical condition than you are.
