Morons should have just let the ships through. Then nobody would have needed to die and this would hardly be newsworthy. Now the whole world is aware of the Gaza blockade and the suffering it causes. It will be lifted, it is only a matter of time now, and Israel would be wise to do so sooner rather than later.

Nonsense. Turkey, not even the current Islamist government, would not go to war over a civilian ship violating international law which was manned by extremists. In any event what could Turkey really do? Not a damn thing. The Israelis own them militarily, have nukes, and they share no common border. Even the Islamist government would do exactly what they're doing now; namely make speeches and do nothing else. The only difference would be the world would be a better place without a few lying pieces of **** in it.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

Erdogan already compared the psychological impact of this event to 9/11 for the US. It's hyperbolic, but you can hardly overestimate the damage this has done in Turkish public opinion.
Turkey's position is that Israel is the one violating international law and they aren't alone in that opinion. It is a NATO country with an economy over 4x the size of Israel's and a capable military. I would think they could figure out some way to retaliate.
As for nukes, they are likely irrelevant unless it's an existential battle for Israel, but that is not what I'm suggesting. Israel has fought wars before without using nukes even when they had them.

Oerdin, apart from the fact that the ships weren't even in Israeli waters, why have you such a hard on about international law anyway - considering your beloved Israel has been routinely breaking a number of international laws every single day for decades!?
Israel whining about other people breaking international law is the most extreme form of hypocrisy imaginable!
Still, it must work because they've got the gullible fools like you brainwashed...

The ships were in Israeli waters. They were 150 miles plus in Israelis exclusive economic zone and worse they publicly stated their goal was to break the law and land illegally. If all they wanted to do was deliver humanitarian supplies then Israel allows in ample amounts on a daily basis but instead these fanatics said they wanted to deliver cargo unscreened. If they only wanted to deliver humanitarian supplies then why not just deliver them via the proper channels? Israel offered to allow it. The only logical and reasonable answer is they wanted to set up delivery routes for weapons especially since the illegal landings were organized by an known affiliate of a terrorist organization. (Look up the weapons they shipped to mushahadeen fighters in Bosnia)
That Europeans continue to ignore these obvious and undeniable truths just show how baised and anti-Israeli they really are. They are totally treating Israel by a double standard. It's sad that they're pandering to such elements of their societies.Last edited by Dinner; June 2, 2010, 06:03.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.
