Actually, that's not the case. McGimpy's bill was going to force them to teach about homosexuality. This is a violation of their freedom of religion.

Grade 4 — Puberty and physical/social impact (currently taught in Gr. 5)

Grade 5 — Reproductive system, menstruation, spermatogenesis, emotional stresses of puberty

What's the controversy? Not trying to convince gay people they have a mental disorder? Explaining safe sex so teenagers will be at less risk of pregnancy/AIDS?

Canada is way behind the times. Here in the US (government funded)...

Part 1 includes discussion of "spit versus swallowing" during oral sex. There's also the explanation to students as young as 12 about "fisting."

Tape 2 includes a promotion for homosexuality. "Homosexuality – they said don't knock it until you've tried it," said an instructor. "Just like you haven't tried a vegetable, how do you know you don't like it?"

Oh, I wasn't doubting that it was a real place, just having a cheap laugh at the minor irony. Not much of a laugh, true, but angry Christian fundy groups freaking out over buttsex just aren't interesting anymore.

When I was 10 years old my parents 'subtly' planted a book (intended for adults) about sexuality in my wardrobe, between two t-shirts. I devored it. The result was that in 4th grade I was already arguing with the grade school bullies about not calling others gay, because it's not wrong to be gay anyway.
