Which people? Gay pedophiles? You're the only one providing cover for them Asher.
I'm pretty sure I'm 100% all-for using the full extent of the law to prosecute, convict, and imprison any child molester.

You're the one on here begging us to let them go.

Well, minor xpost may have happen concerned post is #425.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

So you aren't upset that the gay men who are in contact with boys choose to molest these kids? It would bother me, that's for sure.

Quote would be nice right about now. I said no such thing.

I have said that I think the current secular climate of prosecution is not harsh enough.

So you're all for bringing these priests to trial and convicting them in the US court system? And also all of the people who helped cover up these allegations and transferred priests to new areas to molest children?

They're not gay men, they are celibate priests or (straight) married boy scout adults, for the most part.

In otherwords, there's no separation at all between Church and state, rather that the church is simply an arm of the state.
No, any church (remember, it's not only one church that is seperated from the state) are seperated from the state. US could easily be hinduistic and still be in according with the constitution. Christianity isn't a part of it.

If I thought the system was ineffective and failed to deal with the problem, why would I want them to be subject to it?

But they aren't separate from the church. The church is subordinate to the state. There's no separation.

The only way there is separation is if it works both ways, that the state is not permitted to interfere in the Church, and vice versa.

US could easily be hinduistic and still be in according with the constitution. Christianity isn't a part of it.
The problem with making the church 'subordinate' is that the church becomes 'secular' as well. The correct relationship is for the state to stop infringing on the church. You are right that Christianity isn't a part of the state, but that's not the point I am raising. I am making the point that the Church has become secular. The church is no longer in the Church if the church is subordinate to the state.

I just want to make it very clear you are not in favour of bringing suspected child molesters to justice in the court system.

One might observe that this is you defending the child molesters.

That is really irrelevant - it doesnt matter if you think it's appropriate or not.

So... you are claiming that the RCC method of moving priests to a new parish without telling it's members, and in some cases, allowing the accused to rape all over again right away is more effective than sending them to jail and putting them on a national list available to all.

Gee... why don't we ask the victims which they would prefer... instead of some moron with his nose up the ass of the RCC.

                                It's pointless.
