There is no "Hispanic" racial category on the census.

They count Hispanics, but that includes people who are "white", "black" and even "Asian" or "Pacific Islander".

From the Cali census link, "white, non-Hispanic 42.3%" and "Hispanic 36.6%". They don't provide the Hispanic/non-Hispanic breakdown for any races other than "white", but it looks like of the remaining 24%, half are Asian, a quarter black and the rest mixed race, Hawaiian, native American, Pacific Islander etc.

In the background you can see trees turning brown despite near record rain. It is largely due to heavy metals contamination from the maquiladora factories, mostly producing electronics parts for consumption else where in North America, those 1st world owned factories dump massive quantities of untreated industrial waste directly into the Tijuana river. The heavy metals (mercury, lead, cadmium, etc...) poison all living things including the trees which are 80' to 100' tall and which have lived there for 75-100 years. You can see this in the OP.

This is a major problem. The thing is the enviromental degrediation caused by the Maquiladora factories is illegal under Mexican law but the Mexican government looks the other way because it wants the jobs and tax revenues these factories provide. Worse, the environmental impacts end up in America so regular Americas suffer a lose of quality of life (as well as actual reduced life expectancy) so that Wall St firms and corrupt Mexican officials can profit. This is a very bad business which people here are very upset about but we can do little about it. Internationally the Mexican government's postition is to milk the US for as much money as possible so there just doesn't seem to be a solution to the sewage or trash problem.

This doesn't effect the well to do people in central or north county but it does make life hell, even dangerous health wise, for people in south county though and that's why something needs to be done. I am sad that dumb ****s like Ben think it is racist but maybe his ignorance can be harnessed to provide something for the greater good.

This video shows lots of San Deigans trying to clean up the massive pollution which comes from Tijuana. They only remove the old tires and plastic bags but they can't remove the heavy metals but it does show that on this side of the border people do care and try to clean this junk up.

I think that picture is BS. There is no way Mexico could have that many tires. Everytime I see them driving (granted, that's rare), there's like 10 of them per car.
