triple homicide last night nearby, bout 10 miles south of us in Burlingame. The guy was heading our way last night after 6 pm as I was coming home from the golf course. He ended up ditching his car maybe 2-3 miles from us and hoofing it. They found him this morning bout 2 miles away. The cops had a big manhunt last night and I slept thru it, too much booze on the golf course

Golfer hits fire hydrant, then tree outside his house, highway patrol says

Tiger Woods was seriously injured early Friday when he hit a fire hydrant and a tree near his Florida home, authorities said.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the PGA star hit the fire hydrant and tree as he pulled out of his driveway in his 2009 Cadillac sport utility vehicle.

Woods was taken to Health Central Hospital. Officials there did not have record of him as a patient, though the news release said Woods' injuries were serious.

The highway patrol said the crash is still under investigation, and charges are pending. However, the highway patrol said the crash was not alcohol-related.

Woods, 33, owns a home in the exclusive subdivision of Isleworth near Orlando. Orange County property records indicate his home is valued at $2.4 million.

Tiger Woods seriously hurt in car accident

Golf superstar Tiger Woods has been seriously injured in a car accident near Orlando, according to a report from Florida Highway Patrol.

The report says Woods pulled out of his driveway in his 2009 black Cadillac Escalade at around 2:30 a.m. ET on Friday, struck a fire hydrant and then a tree at his neighbour's property.

No other vehicles were involved.

Woods, 33, was taken to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee in serious condition.

The crash remains under investigation, the report said, adding it wasn't alcohol-related and was not known whether Woods was wearing a seatbelt.

If it wasn't alcohol related then Tiger's on something more serious than booze...

He was taken to the hospital. I assume by ambulance.
How did the emergency response teams know he was lying in the street bleeding from the mouth? Did someone place a 911 call?
Evidently there was some concern. It was initially reported that he was in serious condition.
Whether he was drinking or if his wife attacked him, how can you justify the events?

I have no idea what else you think the law could require without it falling afoul of the 4th and 5th amendments.

A breath/blood test for alcohol and controlled substances along with a search of the vehicle and his person is all I can think of (and these would only be allowed because of the strange circumstances of the accident).

State law cannot require him to give a statement, unless he's given immunity from prosecution.

The Florida law was obviously made in the background of the 5th. The way the Florida Highway Patrol phased their statement something like "because this is classified as a traffic accident tiger only has to provide license, registration, etc" implied that if it wasn't a traffic accident he would have to provide more. But I guess they were referring to if being classified as a domestic dispute w/ Tiger being the victim.

He is not required to give a statement to police nor should he do so. What is laughable is the indignation eminating from the news channels over him exercising his constitutional rights. Since nothing new is forthcoming, all they can do is regurgitate the same crap from yesterday.

Cops Pursue Warrant in Woods Case

Sources tell TMZ the Florida Highway Patrol is now focusing on obtaining a search warrant -- allowing them to seize medical records from the hospital that treated Tiger Woods -- in an attempt to determine if the wounds Woods sustained are consistent with a car accident or domestic violence.

We're told authorities believe they can show probable cause a crime was committed, a necessary step in obtaining a warrant.

One big piece of evidence showing probable cause ... sources tell us Tiger's wife, Elin Nordegren told FHP troopers she went looking for Tiger in a golf cart, came upon the accident and then used a golf club to break the window to gain entry. That's a very different story from what she first told Windemere cops shortly after the accident -- she never mentioned a golf cart. Nordegren told Windemere police she had walked out of her house, saw the crash, went back inside to get a golf club and returned to the vehicle.

TMZ has reviewed 21 photos from the scene -- no sign of any golf cart. But we just found another photo (below) from the scene, where you can see a golf cart in the foreground.

And there's more ... although alcohol was not involved, Tiger was in and out of consciousness and TMZ has already reported Tiger told a friend he was taking prescription meds for pain, which could be evidence of DUI. This, too, could constitute probable cause to obtain a warrant.

We're told the FHP is pursuing the search warrant option after getting shut down again Sunday in an attempt to interview Tiger and Elin and eyeball Tiger's wounds.

As we first reported, according to sources, Tiger told a friend Elin had attacked him after she confronted him with reported allegations he had cheated on her. We're told Tiger told the friend Elin then followed him out of the house and struck the moving vehicle with the golf club, causing him to get distracted and hit the hydrant.

If the FHP determines Elin attacked Tiger, we're told she could be arrested for domestic violence.
