I actually wonder if he realizes by saying "Christian cultural history" he is undermining his entire argument (hint: recognizing the culture is different than being outwardly religious... ask Jews).

Well if we're concerned about a "Judeo-Christian state with Judeo-Christian ideals" you first have to agree on what that means. I think it's reasonable to argue that it doesn't necessarily include religious dogma, but is instead based on cultural mores.
