Around what I expected-- LOts of Tories don't like Stelmach but feel you don't stab your leader who pretty much "just recently" crushed the opposition in a general election. That feeling persists despite the polls and the byelection loss.

The Tories generally have a problem in Calgary. The flip flops on royalties has everyone pissed off here and the election of Stelmach as a leader was AT THE TIME seen as a largely "anyone but Calgary" type move. Stelmach has done little to lessen that feeling since.

As for losing an election?? tougher to tell-- The Tories would have such a powerful incuumbency advantage that you have to figure many of them to retain theor seats on the power of individual candidates


BUT it feels like a change is coming. Many Albertans ARE small c conservative and want to vote conservative while turfing the Tories-- UNless the Tories start simply governing better, they will get turfed
