There are some good country songs out there. But it isn't at all surprising that your Latin American co-workers like it. There seem to be a lot of strong parallels between rural culture in North and South America. I grew up in a small town in Michigan and there was a very large Mexican population there. Just like plenty of the white folks, there were plenty of Mexicans driving around in pick-up trucks wearing boots & cowboy hats. Mexico and Peru has rednecks just like anywhere else.

Though I'm mostly non-redneck and not ashamed to like a few country songs.

So... maybe just suggest that even if country is the *most* popular genre, it wouldn't kill anyone to rotate the selection every now and then.

Have you ever cleaned a bird? Nothing unsanitary about it if you do it right. As for low-class, I dunno. I thought the latest 'in-thing' was eating local produce. These birds were shot about several kms away. That's pretty darn close for food.

The water in the mains around here is all well water, from a limestone aquifer. I have used shallower ground water out on some rural properties occasionally. All sorts of flavors, but always better than surface reservoir water. All of it works just fine to dump onto the heads of country music performers.

TBH, I mostly drink milk and tea. Always have. But if I do drink water from the tap, I just turn it on and drink what comes out. No need to run it. It's not the warmth I object to, it's the gross flavors that bake into the water. Which you don't get from a tap. Regardless, country music sucks.
