Yes, they are not experts in my field. That doesn't make them stupid. I've known quite a few journalism majors (and I'll leave my mother out of it, even though I loved tossing her in the pool) and they weren't all idiots. It's not fair to paint them all with the same brush. Now with lawyers, you'll get no arguement from me.

I still prefer newspaper articles over stories on TV news. (I guess that comment really doesn't say anything either)

I have no opinion on the argument but that was gold.

Limit yourself to facts instead of your highly biased opinions and you'll do better. You don't need to resort to those tactics.
It is an observable fact that journalism majors aren't that bright. Have you ever read an article in a newspaper about your field and not found a glaring error?

Everyone thinks highly of their mother, but face facts, rah.

People are smart in different areas, someone who may be a legal genius with legalese and can get into a decent college for law school isn't necessarily adept with making decisions with largely social implications. Some of the most socially stupid people I've ever met have PhD or Masters. Academic success does not equate to strength in social reasoning and cognition.

That still doesn't advance your point. Just because they take the time to give people tips on how to troll, that doesn't mean people with half a brain are somehow incapable of figuring that out for themselves.
You have to get out of this strawman habit if you want to be a real lawyer. I never said they're incapable of figuring it out on their own. I'm just saying it's highly likely the GOP is somehow involved in here in some way, and that people are dumber than you think.

My position and statements aren't as rigid as you are portraying them to be. If you re-read the thread with both eyes open and your mind focused, you may find out all I'm saying is we don't know the GOP is involved and I think it is highly likely. I think these people may've contacted the GOP after their findings to see how they wanted to proceed and use it -- eg, maybe they wanted to time this bombshell for a later date (before another election?). I think the GOP is in the loop on this, just like they were with Swiftboat.

And if you think the GOP had nothing to do with Swiftboat, I wouldn't be surprised.

    That's the point here.
If that's your point, then you need to comprehend what is being said because it was a strawman.

    I'm done with this.

My analogy was both valid and damning to your case.

Three trolls accomplish more than one. It's common sense. FFS, it's BASIC MATH. 3 > 1. This has been broken down to the simplest three characters possible, and you still pretend not to get it. I'm done with this.

Deliberate obtuseness is Asher's MO whenever he says something stupid.
Actually, it's your MO to just dismiss me as being obtuse rather than getting into an argument with me. It's not being obtuse to make some rather obvious connections and evaluate the probability of the GOP connection. To be obtuse is to deny that it is probable, if anything.

    a law student
Student doesn't mean anything til he gets it.

They target Russia and he represents Russia, but actually your Apple-Microsoft analogy gets out of this problem entirely. Does Microsoft not target Apple? An entire marketing apparatus and even a few explicit ads show that it does.

By your logic, you must be, or at least probably are, utterly dependent on Microsoft's advice. Obviously you couldn't figure out the simple concepts of time and stimulus without the help of a PR firm.
Perhaps you should figure out the simple concepts in my argument before you make ridiculous extensions to them that look an awful lot like a strawman.

You asked why your analogy failed, I answered. Serb is not an agent of Russia and Georgian Intelligence never targeted him, which is why your analogy was off-base.

You make lots of faulty assumptions in retrospection. What they did here would not be immediately obvious to most people.
Nobody underestimates the average person more than me, but I don't know where you're getting the idea that these two are average people. A journalism major and a law student of course would have a better sense than Homer Simpson that repeated stimuli over an extended period would prolong a news story more than a single stimulus. It's basic human psychology that anybody who picks up a paper would know. Why do you think the phrase "15 minutes of fame" has become ubiquitous in the colloquial lexicon? It's a product of our common experience as consumers of news and pop culture, so any educated troll would know to avoid that experience with the extremely simple method we're seeing.

ANYONE who has had daily experiences with things like "time" and "memory" could figure this out, as could any GED-grad who paid attention to how Brett Favre's incessant back-and-forth vaccillating this summer made joining the Vikes a much bigger deal than it had to be.

How is the below not common sense?

Three videos in one day = people forget quickly

Three videos in two weeks = people forget less quickly

Do you really need a PR firm to figure that out for you? It's such a ****ing universal truism that I have to assume you're being deliberately obtuse.

Explain to me what's wrong with the analogy. Trolls don't make one post and go away. They extend the controversy as long as possible, because that's their goal. Just like these two trolls. It doesn't mean anything.

Take, for instance, people who don't understand the probable connection between the GOP and these people, seeing as the GOP has actively targeted ACORN for quite a while.
If either of them is a sports fan, they could see the impact of the lengthy Favre saga and that stupid baseball list.

It's highly likely that there's a connection, but not 100% proven.

Originally I too thought they just had a grudge and wanted them gone, but the more incidents that come to light makes me think that maybe there is just cause here.

Just because there's a hatchet job doesn't mean there is nothing terribly wrong going on here. This stuff is pretty damning.
