Instead of edits to fix punctuation causing a visible post to vanish pending moderator intervention, couldn't the edit be locked for approval and the original left as is until the edits are approved?

That reminds me of the fact that, years ago,
I also had a time when I constantly got notifications for flagged postings.

So as if the Forum couldn't decide whether I am a member of the Mod- / Admin-team (and am supposed/allowed to get these notifications) or not
