A more apt analogy would be one in which a few politicians and talking heads used the term "technological progress" a decade ago to refer to a hypothesized technological singularity, and when I ask you what you mean by saying that we're approaching a point of no return with computers you respond that we're undergoing technological progress. The term you used is so ridiculously vague as to encompass ALL METHODS OF EXTRACTING DATA FROM A POPULATION. It's so ridiculously vague that it wasn't even helpful to me when I was hunting down what you ACTUALLY meant to say, because even the ***** who wiki about political issues had the decency to refer to it as "statistical adjustment".
