          I once was testing an interface between our two banking systems and found out it had a bug. The older system stored the amounts in the smallest denomination units (e.g., cents) and the newer one used fractional amounts.
          The interface sent the amount from the newer system in a 000000000000000.00 format and the receiving part in the older system simply stripped the dot. It all worked fine until I tested it with yen. You can imagine the results.
          I dug around and found out that the bug was present in the older interface that mine was based upon as well. The one used for transferring money between term deposits and current accounts. We fixed it just before the bank started accepting deposits in yen. Of course, I wouldn't mind having a 10000% rate on MY deposit...
