WRT to transubstantiation, the wafer is no longer bread but becomes the body of Christ.
You could scientifically show that the wafer is, in fact, not the Body of Christ. Why would you want to eat Christ? Why are Catholics cannibals?

That's why it is called 'transubstantiation'. trans - change substantiation (of substance) transubstantiation means the change of the substance, from bread into the body of Christ.
You guys are seriously, majorly ****ed up.

The more I hear about this 'Catholic' thing the more I think it should be banned. Why the **** are you so scared of gays marrying eachother when there are ****ing cannibals on every street corner in America???

Empiricism makes no comment on the 'substance' of objects. All it can tell us about are the accidents. The change cannot be observed through empirical means.

Christ commanded us to. "Unless you eat of my body and drink of my flesh, you have no life in you."

      This is basic Christian doctrine.

No wonder you failed out of a science degree.

Look, I realise you think it's stupid but in Aristotelianism, the accidents are the things which we can apprehend with our senses.

This is different from how empiricism looks at substances, (having to do with the thing in itself), and accidents (things like shape and colour). Empiricism insists that it can apprehend all 'substances' through the use of observation and reason. Aristotelianism files all of these observations as 'accidents' and accords the term 'substance' to mean the inner nature of the object which cannot be observed.

          • Ben, the only accident here is you.

            • The PM is in Italy. Maybe he should stop by and see the pope and get this matter sorted out before coming home to face crowds of chanting catholics?
