As Obama has said, this should remind all us to remain vigilant against anti-Semitism and all other forms of prejudice and bigotry."Just puttin on the foil" - Jeff Hanson

It doesn't necessarily mean he's a leftist. I know many Muslims up here in Canada that are very much right wing and absolutely detest the US for its war in Iraq.
What you have witnessed is Republican logic. Man shoots US soldier --> man is unpatriotic --> man is leftist."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

The fact that the local media is calling him the Arkansas jihadist only serves to make him more important than he is.Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that. --Saul Tigh

I am sure I posted in a thread about the shootings. I think it was in this forum.

Not only is Che guilty of trying to score political points with this tragedy, but Drake is also guilty of same.
And about Wright - I agree with others on here that he's an ASSHAT. I have no respect for him.A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

The fact that the left and the right have fanatics who are potentially violent does not invalidate that the Museum killer was a right wing nut. Therefore, I'm not so sure that Che is out of line in his post.
1) The Muslim that attacked soldiers was not "leftist." He was a very conservative Muslim, according to reports at the time.
2) Our 88-year-old killer at the Holocaust Memorial did not "carry the rifle" into the site. The guard who was killed challenged him on sight and died for it.
3) If every right-wing skinhead and Nazi in this country kills just one person each on their way out, an awful lot of people are going to die.
4) My impression is the killers of big numbers of Americans in this country are exclusively right wingers, e.g., Timothy McVea.
5) Both the extreme right and the extreme left are fiercely anti-Semetic, anti_Fed, and conspiracy minded beyond any belief. The recent run has all been propagated by rightists, however.

Now, now. Let's discuss this like civilized adults.
(Sorry, Rufus.)I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
