  • That was a very interesting and scary article to read, Dashi.

I assume you mean this one because it makes me curious where such articles were from Frank Rich and other during the Bush admin. It also makes me wonder where the lefts cries of dissent being patriotic went to. However if we accept this logic as being valid, does this mean that enviromental activists like Al Gore have blood on thier hands when groups like ALF and ELF stage attacks? Do Murtha (For his comments about Haditha) and The New York Times et al bear any reaponsibility for the attack that claimed the life of Private Long?

      • I doubt the Holocaust Museum shooter was influenced meaningfully by Fox News or what-have-you. For one thing, he's a frigging socialist. More importantly, he's plainly out of his cotton-picking mind. Check out the archive of his website, it's just short of Time Cube:

Well, it's not working now, but it was earlier. Craaaazy!

I agree with you - we need to be reasonable and be rational about what is actually happening. But come on - if the article Dashi linked to is accurate, there are, in fact, a couple of conservative news anchors or reporters spewing violent language. Right?

          • The problem isn't so much the nutjobs that kill (now), it's the fearmongering that turns relatively sane conservatives into scared ninnies with guns. I don't know how many RL conversations I've had with right-wing types who quote Limbaugh, Beck, or other talking heads as proof of what ails the country.

Were you alive during the Bush era? Did you use the internet, watch TV, or read a newspaper during that time?

Were you speaking out against it then as well? Because I'm finding alot of the people advancing this meme were gladly participating in the fearmongering and responding with the cry of dissent being patriotic to people calling them deranged. Your brother falls in that category as well.

What's even scarier is being some well-meaning liberal that gets rounded up and exterminated.

DD, you're just too clueless to post here. Yes, there was fearmongering against Bush. Although it wasn't common in the mainstream media (evem you are left with just naming a few posters here). Next, the fearmongering against Bush was based on some semblence of facts. Finally, very few of it was stated in such a way that would incite violence against the Bush administration.

Now that you've lost all your arguments in this forum, you new attack is to say, "Where were you then?" That's bull****. Where were you then, you ****ing hipocrist? Seriously, try using your brain to formulate an argument for once instead of lame attacks and parroting the National Review.

I'll take that as a thinly veiled threat. Which makes che's point for him, of course. Good job.

                        • Even Raygun wouldn't have approved of the crowd the GOP is hanging out with now.
I think you are off base with your assertion about GOP demagogues.

In case you've forgotten conservatives don't do demagogues. The left sure does though, which is why they fearmonger about conservative demagogues. Conservatives believe in individual rights and freedoms, self reliance. Why on earth would we trade these principles for the siren song of the one?

DD and other moderates though, are strangely defensive of the far-right wing nutjobs though.
