That's what made it so fun. And the reliably moral-at-the-end script formula. Hilarious stuff. Watching them migrate from show to show was one of the best parts. I watched TOS starting when I was 13 -- the perfect thing, since I had finished all the sci-fi in the public library. Despite its sophomoric execution, it was different enough for me to embrace.
