The plot thickens. These "macho" guys get enough influence in them to meet up, but it's the transgender's fault entirely. Something stinks.

The victim was a woman inside. Something goes wrong sometimes. It did here.

? So, if you biologically are one thing, but mentally believe you ought to be another, your mental state is right? That's just a wee bit cuckoo. That she's a he.

This is why the concept of sex and gender should be destroyed and reproduction should be moved into the laboratory.

Transgenders are something most cis-people don't quite get. If, internally, she thinks she's a she, that's who she should be, regardless of how the physical body ends up.

I'll admit I have a hard time using the right pronouns for transpeople sometimes, but I generally try to go by what they use. Angie was a she, even if she was born a male.

The dangly bits and the lack of any woman parts tends to lead to the opposite conclusion.

Well, that's the issue with transgenders. The surgery, hormones, and so on are expensive, and I presume not everyone can afford them. It many cases, too, it goes fairly deep; they've always viewed themselves as the other gender, and psychological therapy hasn't changed it.

The problem is that for a lot of cis- people, there's so much discomfort with transpeople that it easily falls into confusion, disrespect, or in this tragic case, outright transphobia.

I won't pretend to say that I myself am immune to the confusion surrounding it--largely with the pronouns, or what a lot of it entails--but having a penis might mean you're technically male, but doesn't mean that you are one. Otherwise, we'd have a lot of confused lesbians.

Of course. And having a penis does not necessarily entail that a person is, wants to be, and should be male.

There are lots of cases where cultures have developed third genders; muxes in certain areas of Central Mexico are males who live their lives as female, and are considered women in every sense; Albania has women who swear virginity and become men in every sense of the word.

This is a case where someone was born male, but desired and sought to live and exist as a female; to continually refer to her as a male is disrespectful, at a minimum.

How am I being disrespectful of him? Is it anymore or less disrespectful for him to lie to his potential partners about who and what he is?

By continually referring to her as "him". It's no different than if I referred to you repeatedly as a "she" or an "it". It might seem as a trivial slight; also at least, you're referring to her as something other than "it". That said, the notion of gender is important and inherent in how trans-people live their lives, so if a trans-woman such as Angie wishes to be considered a she, it's courtesy to follow that lead.

I am not justifying or defending her decision to lie to her partners, mind you; while I can understand why she may want to be circumspect on earlier dates, if she's going to visit the person for three days, it's long past time to bare the naked truth.

That said, what you consider is her disrespect to her lovers has absolutely no bearing on you; so then, why are you being disrespectful to her?

My issue is the bathroom one. Which should a pre-op transgender use? I knew a person who was confused about the situation himself. Should he have used the women's restroom because he still had his female genitalia? But then he'd be in the women's restroom looking very much like a man.

I'm being accurate. There is no "her" to disrespect.
