    The murder victim.
You've yet to tell me why being accurate in language is in anyway disrespectful or failing that why refering to Justin as what he was qualifies as disrespect.
Unless nudity is a frequent and very common component of "outward appearance", then I don't know how useful this is?
I may have posted in haste. I was refering to morphology.

Sex and gender are not inextricably linked. Sex is a biological fact, gender is a societal construct.

I am not disputing that Angie's sex was male.

Were I brutally murdered for who I was, would it not be disrespectful for people discussing it to refer to me as "straight" when I am not? Or "religious" when I am not? Or "Chinese" when I am not? Or "foreigner" when I am not?

You're the one trying to change what words means.

...I hypothesize that your being gay has something to do with this. The whole lack of sexual attraction to any female would tend to keep sexual tension out of your friendships with females. At least on your side.

He. Was. A. Dude. Uncontestably so. If you want to split hairs and say gender and sex are totally different things, fine. I use "he" to refer to this person's sex, not his gender, because I don't care about self-image or societal mores or whatever where genitals are concerned. Argument resolved.

Actually, no. The distinction between sex and gender is well established.

It's possible. But I also don't have this issue with any male friends I have.

I suggested it was already resolved earlier, when it became clear that you wouldn't be changing your mind, and that this was a point we would disagree.

Yes, but the idea that we should identify people by their gender instead of their sex is not.
