Now I am. Is it good or is it some sort of ****ty half-playable community generated game?

I'm with Kitty. Is it any good? SMAC/X was amazing, easily the best game I've ever played until CivIV. I'd love to revisit it; Christ knows EA won't oblige us.

having played it it's actually playable (when i first tried it, it really wasn't). it has some balance issues, but some fabulous ideas as well. what it can certainly benefit from is people providing feedback on ways to expand some of the concepts.

It is unfortunate if I come across as "pushing the game".

I like designing. I don't like, and have no interest in, marketing or getting a huge anonymous fanbase. (Though I admit it would make me somewhat happy if the old ACDGers started playing Planetfall )

But I sometimes when people say "Oh, how I wished for a SMAC2" yet haven't tried Planetfall. And multiple times people have said "What an awesome mod - I wish I had discovered it earlier." That clearly means better marketing and name recognition would bring more people to the mod.

So I figured I'd make a mention of it. Do with it what you wish. *shrug*

Thank you KH. The thing is they've known my views for years, since way back when Poly was still healthy. I do believe they just don't get it. Each is doing their own thing like Nero had his fiddle.

Say something positive? I like the fiddle in DQ's case, PolyCast is pleasant. Rah does a great job, he cares. The smileys are nice.
