I'll tell ya what would happen, most would $hit their panties, P!$$ on themselves because what many dont realize, is their is a major difference between typing on a keyboard in some house or apartment and actually interacting with someone face to face.
The kicker is most who talk junk have no idea who they are talking junk to!
I understand, a lot is juvenile behavior because they have not met the right one in real life to tighten their little arse up, but then again, they wouldnt have the frickin balls to do what they do here in real life.
But, since we are on an internet forum, they feel sdafe and secure, and me, i love Apolyton, I want it to suceed.
I dont know what a lot of the folks are looking for, seems they want to run around, screaming look at me, and nothing appears to transpire.
makes one wonder why?
Perhaps, because the floor they tread on is about to be cleaned off?
Who knows?
I just know i care and want Apolyton to suceed, thats all
more than what a lot aree doing, i just want to make this a place to have fun, not a place to be a d!ckHi, I'm RAH and I'm a Benaholic.-rah

The OTF is actually one of the only active parts of the site. A lot of people blame the DL dance (which AFAIK only is done in the OTF) and abrasive posters in the OTF for the decline, but that's demonstrably not true.

Speak for yourself. The people I have worked with, the majority of humanity seem to have great difficulty accepting they exist. You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

I'm in the group that would like to see things be more civil around here. Although I am by no means a saint myself, particularly when it comes to the owners when things are chronically broken (sorry guys), I would enjoy the site considerably more if there was less of the "personal crap" happening. It's just too negative and pervasive for my liking.
That said, I appreciate this is a matter of taste. Some posters would prefer a collegial discussion, others prefer a more playground type melee. It is an open forum so you get a cross-section of society "walking" through the doors. I've previously suggested a subforum for posters to "have at" each other. Although the suggestion was only semi-serious the point I was making was that I would be most pleased if it didn't have to be in every thread.
Ultimately I think the only way you will come to the type of forum you desire GT is for a return to heavier moderation. My fear with that will be that the clamp comes down on not only personal attacks but also on subject matter. I was a victim of the ancien regime at this site and I certainly wouldn't want to see a return to those days.
Note to those preferring what I called "playground type". I'm not intending to insult you with this poor descriptor. I understand your perception of what the site should be and why.
At the end of the day it is up to the owners/moderators to set the tone of what is acceptable here and for the posters to decide if they like what the product is."I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure." - Clarence Darrow

In the opening of MODCAST/POLYCAST/REVCAST, a short maybe 30-45 second blurb, kind of like the man on the corner type reporter, Dan with a voiceover "Why do you Come to Apolyton"
Have several or at least 2-3 short blurbs as the introduction. You have to remember that many of the regular posters in this thread are teenagers whose primary concern in life is 'that hott girl in French class who lieks teh same pokemons as me'- Catharsis

I disagree actually. I'd like to see more about Paradox and Stardock games at least. Areas where we can have a strong cross-interest between games mean that we'll retain more of the people we attract.John Brown did nothing wrong.

Wezil
You a decent guy, serious as are many
I most ecrtainly dont condone nor want Jack-Booted, Iron Fisted Moderation, (which we dont have, thanks to Mods/Admin?Staff)
But what i would like however is a slight bit more attentative moderation, i.e. not condone outright attacking, moving from thread to thread to attack a poster
I wont mention names, but you folks know wjho you are, one pushes the other one pulls on each other.
It doesnt bode well for an atomosphere of a sucessfaul internet forum.
As far as clamp down on subject matter, I dont recall a lot of over the line subject matter, just more attacks to defend, counter one posters point, our very own Holy War, our own Sports fanactics, our our Technical Terrorist Attackers
But certainly what we have seen in last week or so, enough already, point made, lets move onward.
Thanks for the reply my friend!
