Helping restore Apolyton

I forgot to mention in my reply yesterday something which ties into one of your recommendations about holding other top-level domains to increase the site's exposure: we already have that, and have for some time.

The majority of those domains are .net, and here they are (save non-gaming title ones). Unless otherwise noted, they go the Poly homepage:

- calltopower.net
- calltopower2.net
- civilization2.net
- civilization3.net
- civilization4.net (goes to CivIV section here directly)
- civrev.net
- galciv.net
- galciv1.net
- galciv2.net (goes to GalCivII section here directly)
- moo3.net

We would have a SMAC one as well if it was available (but isn't now and hasn't been).

Thats half of the solution. The other half is to start advertising that name. One without the other won't get you much. Say you purchase a domain called CivCentral.com or PlayCivilization.com, or whatever. Start a forum contest to have people suggest new names.

I think having a "hard to remember" site name helps. Who knows how many Murgs have been screened out due to this situation?

Why is that so hard, so many who post here, so few want to carry on a civil and serious thread.

My ultimate aim, and I understand your doing a combo Tuberski, but for those who are serious, is:

1) To have a better,friendlier site for people to visit

2) More active On Topic posters and On Topic gaming competitions/discussions

3) Less friction between Mods/Admin?Staff, more support their way, more positive feedback both ways

4) A more active Modding community, be it a simple scenario as i would tender or a much more indepth as dale did or other will/could do

5) expanded coverage of current games

6) Some story writing like we used to have encouraged by other not ripped apart and gloated over, it doesnt have to be a Pulitzer Prize to be acceptable


LESS HOSTILITY by several here, bullying is not necessary, I grew up being bullied and abused, i know why people do it, attention, makes them feel a sense of power, doesnt amount to anythimng really positive except identifying those for what they are.
