It wasn't the thread but I did just bump one in the community forum about another thread that got deleted from the CivIV forum.

The thread was a compliment to the creators of the game...

The great library was just a library, some other such thing and then ...and CivIV is just a game. To eliminate any confusion I threw in this guy...

Kind of a civ related way to give a compliment. So I asked about it in the thread now bumped in the community forum and I got trolled for my trouble...and people want to know why I troll Ming.

That was my 'help' when I asked for it.

Well, I am asking Lancer, I have known you since you ruled the roost at CTP

I too understand we have some opportunities to overcome.

But with help from everyone, Mods,Staff Admin, we can work together, view what is perceived as issues, view what has been issues and try to move forward.

I am sorry for all who have encounters and turned sour.

I am simply trying, one more time, to pick up the Apolyton Cross, move it forward, have other join in.

Thanks for your candid comments, and thansk for the thread about CIV IV, I hope w do see more and for one, feel we would be better for it!

I actually abandoned the On-Topic forums once Civ4 came out because its graphics were such that it was beyond my ability to create content for it. I was only ever really active in the mod communities, is there really all that much you can say about single player turn based game play?

I am not sure if there is much you can do about it. I know a lot of people's content creation abilities are far above and beyond what we were doing five years ago, but the engines are such that you can't just jump in anymore, and I don't think the various mod/unit creation forums will ever be what they were.

Consistent moderation would help this site. Apparently, if you post spam right after a warning by moderators, you will get warned and your post deleted. But do it after the warning has been there several hours and it seems to be okay.

Let's face it all of this talk is worthless until poly's technical issues are solved. If people get a "server is busy right now" message every 10 minutes, as is usually the case these days, then forget about it. All the content in the world won't matter since no one can access it. Job one is fix the server issues.

Two things:
1) He was already hosting his mod and discussion for it at CFC, not Poly
2) He was and is bat**** crazy and made his own bed

If you go to the website for his mod it quite clearly told people to go to Apolyton and well he did something wrong let us remember that you have a way of royally pissing off a lot of people. My point in posting this is not to pick a fight but instead is to show you that the attitudes of people in the OTF does indeed negatively impact the On Topic forums. Even if the only artist in town isn't socially acceptable to you if the site needs that artist then posters shouldn't go out of their way to smear crap on their work.

Back in feb or march, he posted (on Apolyton) that the mod was to be hosted and supported at CFC.

And I've never played his mod, I only played and expressed disgust with Colonization (sans his mod). He took it personally. :shrug:

I did not smear crap on his work, let alone go out of my way to do so. Strongly recommend you leave and come back to the thread once you know what is actually going on, because all you're doing right now is spamming nonsense.

Dump the podcasts and use that time to keep the front page up to date. That said our front page royally sucks. It should be more like CFC's or even CG's front page. The idea is to show lots of useful content right up front (news articles, league news, now mods that have been released, diplo games started, weekly multiplayer games played & who won them, etc...) that way it hooks the visitor who just swung by instead of looking kind of blank and boring. We want the front page to make the place appear dynamic and active even if the truth is it is boring and dying.

I'm with Kitty. Is it any good? SMAC/X was amazing, easily the best game I've ever played until CivIV. I'd love to revisit it; Christ knows EA won't oblige us.
