I'm not saying you're wrong, I just find it weird that the three places I've seen it mentioned are all the exact same wording, down to the year...

George made sure his brother's state didn't get the Katrina treatment. Granted, we weren't flooding, but the Feds were there with ice and food immediately. Even the Rita victims were better off than Katrina's. The Fed's failed after Katrina not because the government is incapable of doing the job, but because the Administration was ideologically opposed to doing the job (which is the same reason we're in this recession).

Jindal's speech reminded of a democratic reply after a Bush speech to go to war in Iraq. Daschle did the reply and he and Jindal came across the same way to me, like milquetoast. I never could stand Daschle after I saw that speech (being indifferent before).

Well, to be fair, I think the opposition's response tends to always fall flat. It's a bit hard to do it because most of it is probably written by the party's national committee and it has to be able to adjust based on what the speech is about (and what gets the biggest applause and whatnot), so it may be the first time they really see the entire speech at once... meaning they are highly dependant on the teleprompter.

Actually, if you also want to be a pedant about that sort of thing, Obama got it wrong in his inaugural speech, since he wasn't the 44th person to take the Oath. He's the 43rd.
