Because of how much we (or at least Californians... I don't really care) have to pay for her mental illness?

Don't worry. She's been offered a book deal and a made for TV movie deal so she'll have plenty of money soon. In any event even if you count the food stamps she gets it still adds up to less then 1/3rd the price per year of putting one person in prison yet the red necks keep passing laws making the US incarceration rate the highest in the world. Let's have some perspective here. Wow, you can feed 15 people for 1/3 the price of incarcerating one person? What a deal, what a deal.

Of course the cheapest option would have been to actually give this mentally ill woman proper mental care and then she wouldn't have 14 kids. BUT NO! We can't do that because that would be the evil socialism.

          I'm of mixed feelings here.

          1. I love the fact that she has a big family.

          2. I don't love the fact that she's used fertility clinics and isn't married.

          3. I love the fact that she wants to raise them all so that they have a better life.

          4. I don't love the fact that she'll be living on state assistance to do so.

As for the programs, I can't fathom why the fertility clinic is letting her do IVF so many times. That makes no sense to me. If you are on food stamps and social assistance, they shouldn't have access to IVF.

I don't have a problem with her wanting a big family. Find a nice guy and get married and then bob's your uncle. Some of us would be more then happy to have them.

Also declaring wanting a massive family to be a mental illness and force her incarceration for it (she ain't going willingly) may be considered a bit much.

I hear California is releasing violent prisoners because of budget shortfalls. Brilliant! How's that working for you Oerdin?

Wanting a big family is a sign of mental illness? You know, perhaps if there were more men willing to step up she wouldn't have to be using IVF. This is an indictment of the men in California, that they can't satisfy this woman's desire for a big family.

Wanting a large family is not a sign of mental illness, but certainly a sign of a reckless social irresponsibility. She can't afford to keep her children, so someone else now has to. Johnny Taxpayer.

Actually it's a sign of mental illness not to want kids...biologically speaking you should have as many kids as you can...so technically she is saner than most people.
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

I'd add the part in bold, but I suspect you thought that was implied.
