Is is really that difficult to believe that a government which let syphilitic patients go untreated for decades, that sterilized people without their knowledge, that brought drugs into the country which largely ended up in poor neighborhoods, which gave people psychedelic drugs without their knowledge, and which deliberately exposed its own citizens to nuclear radiation without their consent would engage in something so heinous.

    Yes.

But by all means, if the government can engineer something so utterly complex as HIV and AIDS, then maybe they actually did do 9/11!! Truthers were right!!

Rick Warren may occasionally sound more open-minded than Jerry Falwell, another plump Evangelical who once played a prominent role in U.S. politics. But he's not. Gays and lesbians are angry that Barack Obama has honored Warren, but they shouldn't be surprised. Obama has proved himself repeatedly to be a very tolerant, very rational-sounding sort of bigot.

It's not as if the U.S. hasn't engaged in genocide before.
Yes, it really is that difficult, because the actual disease doesn't even WORK VERY WELL as some sort of genocidal bioweapon, not to mention that scientists have studied it for DECADES and still don't understand everything about it. And that's all assuming you know nothing about biology and therefore don't know how difficult it would be for anyone to design something like AIDS, let alone do it in secret.

Because they never make mistakes? I don't believe it either, but if I tried I could use imagination and make it work.

Also, if I were a genocidal government, I'd avoid designing a disease that can easily spread to non-targets.

NGR: Obama is a "very tolerant, very rational-sounding sort of bigot"? Is that a typo or a troll?

EDIT: N/M, read the article, seems it's more or less the latter. Enraged gay guy, doesn't seem to realize (or perhaps has just realized) that gays are the new blacks in more ways than one: Democrats use their reliable, unswerving support, then screw over their interests at the drop of a hat, largely because their stated interests are currently not politically viable. 'Taint fair, but it's life.

Except that they wouldn't design it, they'd modify an existing virus to make it more contagious and lethal. Which, apparently, is easy enough.

Che recognizes the reasons why the theory is implausible. But he is just saying that there is enough shady stuff the government has done to give black folks that suspicion. Same with the 9/11 truthers and any other nut out there.

If you are filled with so much distrust, then implausible theories that confirm that distrust are seen as more credible.

Well, it's about as contagious as they'd want it to be, I suppose--perhaps a little more, even--but it can take years for an infected person to even show symptoms. If Hitler had been that patient he'd have only killed a few thousand Jews by 1945...

Neither. Obama is quite obviously a bigot according to the standard of MrFun and others on Apolyton.

And AIDS isn't very contagious, thus refuting the hypothesis. Nor is it related to any virus we'd seen prior.
