I think this is the end of Palin's career as a national political figure.
The press has been trying to portray her as the new Dan Qualye, i.e. dumb. She can explain away her Couric interviews, and the clothes, and the supposedly not knowing that Africa is a continent by blaming McCain staffers and bad advice. But for her to chatter on while turkeys behind her are being beheaded is going to permanently label her as stupid.
