And after voting consistently as a Democrat for 70 years,
That what makes me say it. Geeze.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

GePap beat me to replying to your last post, Rah so let's hear what you have to say about rational self-interest and when consistently voting for candidates of same party over decades really does seem to make sense in regard to one's self-interest.

And if you do believe that civil rights issues and concerns are enough ground for a thoughtful decision-making in how to vote, I'd say it's a safe bet that this elderly black woman has been just as thoughtful as I have been then.

Again, do you have any evidence that her voting decisions were mindless? Are you claiming that it is irrational for her to have, over the last 70 years, supported Democrats over Republicans? Why? Specially given that she is a black woman.

The thing is Mr. Fun, crudeness is okay, but if one isn't going to be crude and blunt in their attacks, supposedly they must employ wit of the greatest caliber. So I would have needed to make some smart remark about Pattycakes' parentage or intelligence (if any), not just tried to turn his own crude and brutish remark against him.

See, eithet you are a mindless brutish troll (Patticakes) or you must be H.L. Mencken.

Now that was mildly clever. Take notes Gepap.

It's not accurate to call someone an idiot because you are too lazy to argue on the flaws and illogic of another person's statement.

But no, I don't particularly care to defend Comrade's example he used. There is a better way to explicate the difference between why blacks often vote for black candidates and why some whites refuse to ever, ever vote for a black candidate.

I only spoke up on the hypocrisy of tarring and feathering Gepap for similar behavior that you yourself participated in and seeing you come off clean.

Since that wasn't what I was doing, it stands to reason there is a better reason. What I was doing was throwing the vulgar definition of racism into the trash.

This will be the 10th presidential election I've voted in. Less than this woman. I've been very vocal when it comes to voting self interest which is usually the Republican outlook and I've usually voted repug. BUT NOT EVERY ELECTION. It's been 7 repugs to 2 demokrats Clinton's second term I voted for him and last time I did not vote for BUSH. SO I don't blindly vote the same party. According to the article this woman has ALWAY voted DEM. With NEVER an exception. That is what makes me believe not a lot of thought.

YOu seem to be saying that every repug doesn't support civil rights. Geeze. Talk about silly generalizations.

Voting for the GOP is only in your self-interest if you are very rich. It tends to work against the interests of everyone else.

No, not every Republican. I give cookies to Schwarzie in California for respecting that state's Supreme Court ruling favoring equal marriage protection and stating that he would oppose a popular referendum in favor of discrimination. There are other Republicans like Scwarzie in that respect.

But you let me know when the party as a whole cuts ties with the fanatical religious right, and then you and I can talk about the possibility of my voting for a Republican candidate who runs on a platform that includes equal rights for gays and lesbians.

I running at APOLYTON and support equal rights for gays and laugh at the religious right. I bet you didn't even think about voting for me. Pretty sad.
