Find a sense of humor. I never said she was a racist.
But everytime the focus is on him being black instead of what he stands for, it diminishes his effort. And MOST of the news coverage emphasises that.

For anyone that has read the body of work of my posts over the years, I would hope would recognize that I'm not a racist. One joke that went flat shouldn't change that.

And for the record, I'm not voting for Obama because having a liberal dem president with what looks like could be a veto proof dem congress scares the hell out of me.

Yes, a lot of them are fine things but I don't see how the big bribe is going to be paid for.
It's no different then most other politicians but most politicians aren't in a position to actually keep the promises.

We'll see. I wish I was as optimistic as others here. Too many times of pre-election hope quickly dashed when reality hits and the arguement starts on who will pay for all those hopes.

Every one of his spending proposals is an absolute must. Take healthcare for example. We can't afford things because health care expenses are so high.

Being too conservative is often counterproductive to efforts to save.

I don't see what's so scary about paying a little more in taxes anyway.

You can't get something for nothing, you know. And if you think improved health care, education and economic growth are so frivulous as not to warrant increase in taxes then what would you consider to be important enough?

Obama proposes to increase taxes only for the wealthy, but if for pragmatic reasons he has to break that campaign promise later during his presidency and raise taxes also for the middle class I would not have a problem paying a little more in taxes for the greater good.
