    As for what I learned, it's

    a) the language (well, I hop ze Polly experience did certenly improff my english, jawohl)

    b) I changed my POV on some issues, though it's the question if it was cuz of poly or just a general development. But I think poly played a role to some extent.

    c) Like Aeson I'd absolutely say places like Poly do give you insights into povs from other parts of the world (in a better way than just reading news IMO) which I'd say "widens the own horizon" (well, that expression makes sense in German, dunno if it's known in English too), that is if you're open-minded enough to think that other povs may be worth thinking about

        I've changed my position on one issue that comes to mind and I'd guess there are others. Mostly though, I find discussing anything worthwhile here is a study in masochism.
        We need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

              Relax, you are in good company. Ghandi and Nelson Mandela came out as Hitlers next to me.

              My political compass scores were:

              Left/Right -10 (max left)
              Authoritarian/Anti-authoritarian -9.5 (nearly maxed out as anti-authoritarian)

              Most Poly liberals scored above -4 on both scales.
              The funny thing is me and Imran score exactly the same on that test, I'm usually +5 econ, -2 authoritarian.

              Prior to Poly I was about -3, -2 on econ. I blame folks like DanS and Adam Smith for convincing me of the efficacy of trickle-down economics and the merits of eschewing market intervention. I blame Shi Huangdi for convincing me I'd be happier in the Catholic church.
