  • Storm in a teacup in the end...

The ironic part will be all the evacuees complaining that it wasn't a disaster and they needn't have had to leave in the 1st place...
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

    • I doubt that. Not after Katrina. I ain't staying put after Wilma.

      • Good that it was not a major disaster.

        • Considering the storm is still dumping a lot of water, the levees are still going to have to work overtime. They could still breech...

I heard a few hours ago of a town just south of NOLA where an earthen dike was expected to burst at any moment. Did anything become of that.

We had a similiar issue..many years and many evacuations along the Outer Banks

Tourism VS State calling for evacuations

Ya know what, after a few hard hits..no one talks trash now

The way they see it, better be out a few thousand dollars and have a place to return to then die or not heed the warning and get hurt

Oh and the other 3 navy investigations. This is holy frickin crap active this year. If Josephine forms we will be ahead of number of storms vs 2005 at this date.

The irony will be those that decide to bellyache about having to go through the depredations of having to run, find a hotel miles away, spend loads of money etc...

Would they rather that, or be returning home to the type of disaster that was threatened but never materialised?

I heard a follow-up story on this. The mayor of the small town went on the air and begged anyone for sandbags. The town had run out and the dike was about to burst.

Within 15 minutes, trucks from various agencies were showing up with sandbags. They were in time to shore up the levy, and the town was saved.

Were they drinking Whiskey and Rye?
