And let me point out that it took you about a HALF OF THE FRIKING YEAR to gather enough forces to invade Iraq (which was embargoed for a decade and thus had no modern weapons or spare parts) and about a month to actually beat their army.
And it took you a day because you planned it all waaay ahead.

And we "ran" from Afghanistan, because of people like you are our own country was about to collapse.

Iraq is on the opposite side of the planet. I'd like to see you invade Costa Rica on short notice.

I think his point, PLATO, is that we had massive superiority in arms, control of the sky, etc. in Iraq. Ergo, similar to Russia's advantages in Georgia.
Exactly.

You guys are hopeless in your blindness.
I think the lies and hypocrisies lie on both sides, Serb (forgive the pun). I'll be the first to admit that the West demonizes Russia excessively, both because you're the old target and thus convenient, and because you're still a significant power (and thus you really are the enemy, sort of). However, you have a lot of the same biases, the other way around ... It's all good if you are overly patriotic in order to balance the overly antagonistic folks here, just as long as you know yourself where you stand.

When you see your neighbour is pumping up its military and have a desire to reconquer its breakaway province you obledged to protect, you bring more stuff to the scene. Sure we knew something is coming since Sukashvili started to amass its forces around the SO border.

Yes how could I, the goody good, noble knights of the Russian Army, always on the lookout to save kittens and puppies and old ladies. WILL YOU EVER FORGIVE ME?

Serb, I really your crazy fantasies. You are comparing the battleready and deployed 58 army's attack on georgia with the gathering of sufficient forces to attack the Iraqui army - forces that have to be moved halfway across the world.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Why I care to make this distinction is beyond me. 4:30 on a friday, baby. You may now continue the measuring contest.

Thanks Arrian. I got what he was trying to say. His point was just soooo wrong. If you are comparing "army vs. army" then it is quite clear that the US was able to execute its advantage much better than the Russians. In fact, the length of time the Russian troops took either speaks quite well of the Georgian military or quite poorly of the Russians. My contention is that it is both.

Not a bad idea. Good Luck to you!
