      Since that's the case, in any future Russia vs Georgia conflict, we need the Georgians to hold out while a NATO army battles its way across southern Russia to assist them.
      The Turkish army, far more modern and highly trained than their Russian counterpart, is more than capable of holding the Russians in Georgia until additional NATO ground forces arrive. Especially with multiple thousand 4th/5th generation NATO aircraft able to support within hours.

      Russian aviation is even worse off than Russian armor.

      Emm, the same "magic rule that created Cold War perhaps (as opposed to a quite possible 3rd WW in the absence of nuclear holocaust threat) ?

              Who claimed the Georgian army was superior to the Russians in any regard? They primarily use your own worthless crap equitment.

                    I doubt many people actually want to go to war; it's more of a "We could/would win if we tried". Now, that's wrong, of course; both countries would lose if we tried; millions of lives would be lost, and China would end up on top by staying out of it until the very end (if then).

                            Yes, it's only 37 000 personel, but it's "modern" and "well-trained". Sure Russia has a much more soldiers, but we relocated about 10 000 of our soldiers to fight Georgians in South Ossetia. So we didn't have a number superiority when we completely ****ed them within five days.

                                Certainly the difference in heavy armour, artillery, and air support had noting to do with it.
