    • Russian president signs Georgia peace plan

      Kremlin

MOSCOW (AFP) — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Saturday signed a French-brokered plan to end the fighting in Georgia, a Kremlin spokeswoman said.

"President Medvedev informed members of the security council of the Russian Federation that he had signed the document on principles" for resolving the conflict, the spokeswoman, Natalya Timakova, told AFP.

What I'd really like to know is who holds the actual power on Russia currently.

Who would have thought that the Western and Georgian mass media could lie?
Esp. after their "honest and unbiased" coverage of the Iraq invasion or bombardments of Yugoslavia.

We have dozens of reports that city is destroyed by Georgian Grads (which are not precise weapons as you might know and an attack of Grads regiment vs. the residential area of the city SHOULD BE devastating) and one single report that say there are only 45 dead in the local morgue (you never thought that people buried their deads everywhere they could just because they had no chance to reach the morgue, 'cause the city was under fire and there were Georgian soldiers and tanks shooting at civilians on sight, as I showed to you in a Georgian TV video?). Besides in addition to the night bombardment of Tskhivali within first gours of "combat" Georgian army destroyed ten Ossetian villages, civilians who have been killed there simply had no chance to be relocated to the capital's morgue.
Why should I believe to your WSJ or this I had a Skype call from Tbilisi tonight from Lawrence Sheets, [B] Lawrence Sh!ts?

Even if there were only 45 dead civilians (which is an obvious lie), even there was only one Russian peacekeeper killed, instead of ten, even if there was only a single Ossetian child killed by the Georgian surprise attack vs. the sleeping city, who is the person who did that if not aggressor and a war criminal?

          WHO? A victim?

Keep bullsh!ting yourself with that "Sukashvili did nothing wrong and really that surprise attack vs. the South Ossetian capital was not so bad" and the same ****.

p.s. I'm a bit shocked by how cynical and lying your western brainwashing machine is. You portray victims as aggressors and aggressor as victims. Great! Just ****ing great. How can you live with that?

              me, me!

Nice that you realized that when i said Russia i meant your government and you equalized it with western mass media.

You really should cut down the swearing on your posts - it makes them unreadable, and makes them look childish.

Btw, just out of interest - have you done your service in the army?

I would say that independent reporting from the hospital most casualties were taken to merrits more than a "So what" especially in light of the narriative you've been trying to construct for us during the course of this conflict.

Because he serves to contradict the other narrative you've been trying to give us that it was the Georgians that were the agressors.

                  • Which explains the censorship the Russians were using to try to block independents from actually discovering the facts of the case. Censorship is always a good sign that the party in power is trying to cover up the facts.

Ukraine Willing to Partner With West on Missile Defense

Ukraine says it is ready to share information from its missile warning system with Western countries.

Saturday's announcement comes as tensions mount between Russia and the West over the conflict in neighboring Georgia.

It also comes just days after Poland and the U.S. signed a deal to set up part of a missile defense system in Poland.

Ukraine's Foreign Ministry says the demise of a Russian-Ukrainian bilateral defense agreement allows it to make new deals with Western countries on missile warning systems and satellite tracking.

On Saturday, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko called for talks with Russia on the Black Sea Fleet's use of a Ukrainian port.

Mr. Yushchenko expressed concern that Russia's use of the port Sevastopol could inadvertently drag Ukraine into Russia's conflict with Georgia.

The Ukrainian leader signed an order Wednesday requiring Russia to seek Ukraine's permission moving warships to and from the port. Moscow rejected the decree, describing it as "anti-Russian."

Russia has an agreement to use the Ukrainian port until 2017, but Ukrainian officials say they want the Russian fleet to leave when the lease expires.
Ukraine is afraid of Iran as well.

It doesn't serve a direct military purpose wrt them, of course (though they idiotically insist it does). What it does is help start a real military commitment between the US and Poland.
