  • Understood, np.

Do you want the seawall the same height as ours?

Other than that I have a real good idea what to build and where.

When we build it I'll make sure the metal bar is sticking out ready to recieve the posts and oiled against rust.

Can you gave me the dimentions of the laundry room? We'll build the walls for that, incl 2 small portions of the circumference wall, early on. The inside wall will be temp made of wood. This way I can have a gate big enough to recieve the cement mixer. I need the dimention along the street side and the basketball side. I remember you want decorative block on those two sides, yes?

Sho is with me and understands your post plan. We agree that 10 cm wide posts are the way to go, very strong. Basicly 10 cm square, roughly 1 ft. Same as the Pondol house.

Teresa says that Tito will handle getting a temp water line to the property, very important when building a cement house.

Monday the guys will dig down to determine the exact depth of the base to build on. Tito wants that to determine how much stone is needed.

Insik or Ado, one or the other is not available but there are a couple guys here that were on our seawall and are professional seawall guys. On our wall they worked really hard and appear in our early photos, I suggest P300 each. We had 10 guys to work our wall. I advise that if you do want these guys that we wait until we have water, stone and sand.

Getting the sense of your post and PM I'm instructing Teresa to order a partial of 50 cubics of stone and 20 cubics of sand and only 20 bags of cement since we'll be storing it at our place until the laundry/storage room is up. We did my whole job with partials.

The cement mixer is repaired and now working well.

I told the guys that "Mike's job starts Monday! Big money!" They are very happy and appreciate the much needed raise.

    • The laundry room will be three meters along the street side; two meters along the basketball side. There should be NO FLOOR along the one meter nearest the street. It's above that strip the clothes will hang, and they can drip down onto the pebbles. If you need to hook up electricity and water, plan for having the washing machine in the seaside/basketball corner.

I'd like the front yard to be level, and then have a single step up into the house. So, the top of the waver should be equal with the level of the ground at the street-side of the property + one step up. That's approximately the height of yours, yes? If for some reason you think this is too low, feel free to raise it.

Thanks for doing all of this.

      • Got it, a step higher than the level front yard.

We'll just use a packed dirt or gravel floor in the laundry room for now.

You're welcome Zkrib. If in your first box you could include a dozen carbide tipped 7 1/4 inch combination circular saw blades, qty 3 10" table saw blades for ripping and 4 10 inch chopsaw blades for crosscut (all carbide tipped if they have it) it would be very helpful on your job. The need for them will occur soon, when we start building forms for the seawall. We won't have them by then perhaps but they can use my mostly shot blades for the purpose.

All my carpentry tools I'll let the crew use as they need. Gulp. There I've said it, I've never loaned carpentry tools before. If something burns, a tool dies for the cause, I can count on you I'm sure, right?

Also, a biggy...I realized that Sho is being paid for his considerable masonry and carpentry skills...but he's also running the whole jobsite which is a huge task. We've not figured any pay for that...

He didn't say anything himself but I realized it last night while we were working on your post diagram.

        What to do?

          What to do?

My initial reaction was -- wait, he's getting 500 pesos. Then I realized, that's WITH the cement mixer. How about P500 withOUT the mixer; $650 with the mixer? Does that sound far for everyone?

I LOVE the Internet!! After pondering the above problem for days, I went on Google, typed in "waterfall pump calculator" and presto--there it was!! I need a pump that can pump 900 gallons per hour. That'll give me water that will go over my little waterfall 1/8" thick, which is all I need.

                • The P150 a day for running the crew is cool, Sho is happy, said thanks.

The P150 for the mixer is wear and tear and repairs which Sho will take care of. Ought to more than cover it.

Great on the water pump, nice find on the calculator.

Sho recieved 18 of 50 cubics of rock at the property today while he was doing a few things around our place. P400 per cubic which iirc is what we paid for ours. Been a while though, might not rc. No sand yet. Sho ordered the rock and 20 cubics of sand early this morning.

                  He's all over this project.

He's going to order the water and electric tomorrow which we only got an electric permit for ours iirc, should be np.

Also tomorrow we're going to make from my stock of wood and take to your place some stakes and I'll show Sho where the seawall and steps go (he's got a pretty good idea already) and do some figuring for the laundry room. There was some other little prep stuff but I'm spaced now from a long day putzing at the beach...

                  It's tough.

Since its about time to tie Poly into a canoe with its shield and sword and send it over the falls I figured it would be a good idea to create a refuge of sorts far from the mods and admins should they decide to kill us off too.

                    • Just marry Zkribbler off. He has his retirement pad on a tropical island, friends who live nearby, so now all he needs is a cute little island girl.

                      • Yes but if he chooses one all the rest will be broken hearted hot chicks trying to go on without any hope. It's a dilemma.

The earliest I could possibly get the sawblades to LBC would be this Saturday. But that means you won't get them for six weeks. Is that okay??? It sounds like you need them sooner.

Count on me to get replacement for broken and worn-out equipment?? Sure.

That will be fine on the blades, and thanks. Also we had 2 girls move out of the boarding house which opened up a room to be Zkrib boxes dedicated. So any time you want to ship stuff we have a place to put it under lock and key.

They delivered additional rock late last night, Sho was on the job during the delivery. He checks the loads for qty. The truck is capable of carrying 6 cubics and must be full! Full!

Haven't gotten a total qty of delivered material figure from him yet.

I'm really impressed with the way he's taken to being in charge of the guys. There was a born leader in him all along I guess.
