  • Gulp. Send a pic when you can.

If there's going to be a screw up, this is the place to do it. I don't care all that much about the stairs as long as (a) they're well supported, so they don't get battered down by the waves, and (b) they're not too steep.

    • Whatever is done is done and if its screwed I know how to fix so no worries. They are doing the wall in sections so the sections will march along to their conclusion. The top of the wall in the house area needs to have metal bar sticking out for the posts at least, but Tito should be all over that I'm sure.

So I'm taking a couple days at the house in Pondol and civvin while the progression proceeds then I'll pick it up a little later.

I'll do the pics coming up soon and hopefully Aeson will get you Dolores's video...

        • Here's the video. I didn't do much editing, this computer is a bit on the slow side...

          • Thanks for the vid, Aeson! It gives me a real good idea what's going on.

I'm a little upset to see all the hand-toting of the rocks. Do you guys need a wheelbarrel? My treat [if the price is within reason].

...and please tell me you took Lushington out of the cement mixer before mixing the cement.

            • We're a brand new construction co so we could definately use one. I'll have Teresa look into prices and check with you if they are ok. One note, an inexpensive one would be crushed by the weight of these rocks.

Later on when it comes to the carpentry if you feel inspired a good Porter Cable jigsaw from your local home center would be very helpful. My old one died and I still have quite a few blades but no saw. It could save some time which is money but likely not as much as you would spend so...

It's useful for finish work mostly so no rush even if you want to at all.

Also, Dolores made the vid. Aeson did the upload.

              • Also keep in mind that when the Pondol house was built they had no cement mixer. All the cement was mixed by hand. It's the way things are done here, not to get upset. There is some discussion as to where we might find such a thing as a wheeled barrow now.

This is the hole for the corner of your circumference wall and laundry room.

                            • I went up above to clear some of the gravel that had been thrown up on the inland side to make room for more and took this pic back down into the trench.
