it is much more a case of relief for the living relatives than the dead soldiers.
last time i checked, people like to bury their relatives, instead of just leaving their mauled rotting flesh somewhere. if you remember it's one of the first tech's in civ.
it would be great if you could sign a card, similar to organ donors - "if i die, i am willing to donate my body in the interest of state security". Until people carry such cards, it is our responsability to do our best to get them.

The deal for Shalit will be a tons worse. It will be 1 living person, per 300-900 living terrorists that will immediatelly go back to their wrong doings.Comment

IIRC there were about 10 collateral dead in that case. The distinction is, again, that they were collaterals and that we do try to minimize similar damage. The other side goes for civilians directly. Lebanese terrorist Samir Kuntar made a rare statement Thursday, saying that he envies Israel.
"To tell you the truth, we envy our enemies. The way they care for a body and will go to the end of the world in order to get it back, and how they care for the hostage and will go all the way to return him," Kuntar said in an interview with Hizbullah's al-Manar television network, a day after being released from jail and returned to Lebanon as part of a prisoner swap deal with Israel.

He also said that during his years in prison he had read "the books of the enemy about the '67 and '73 wars", and had felt that the Arab person had no meaning in these wars. He said he felt disregard for human beings' value in Arab countries, adding that this was manifested in Egypt's attitude toward its MIA's.
Having retrieved its men from Israeli prisons, Hezbollah vowed to turn its attention to gaining Shebaa Farms, a disputed border zone that is under Israel's control, for Lebanon.
The United Nations said Shebaa Farms should be Syrian, and Israel has indicated willingness to discuss ceding the territory once there is agreement over its sovereignty.
But Kuntar said the war on Israel would not end there.
"Believe me, anyone who thinks freeing the Shebaa Farms or Lebanese lands will end this conflict is delusional," he said. "We will not leave them alone and they will not leave us alone."Comment
