A US marine in Iraq has been removed from duty following claims that he handed out coins inscribed with biblical verses in Arabic.

Residents in Falluja had complained that the coins were being distributed at a checkpoint, the US military said.

US troops are forbidden from proselytising any religion.

The soldier was breaking the military's own rules, and doing so in a way bound to inflame passions against the US. They should have thrown the book at him simply for being a complete idiot.

As for the coins, they were obviously tailor made to prozelytize in Arabic countries. Much better articles on the issue:

It's extremely rare that I agree with GePap, but this is one of those times. We'll never convince the Islamic world that we're not "crusaders" if we cant even stop our own troops from committing religious offenses against them.

There is this crazy thing in this country called "separation of church and state", so it's wrong there....and it's wrong because it's an attempt to impose another religion on the people we're suppose to be helping.
