Generally physicists do not name particles after physicists. The lone exception is the Higgs boson.

Fermions (Enrico Fermi) and Bosons (Bose) are classes of particles named after physicists.

In general physicists choose whimsical or descriptive names for particles.

I've said it before: when somebody asks me a genuine question I'm more than willing to answer them civilly and without talking down to them. In fact, I've done so a number of times in this thread already.

When somebody approaches me in an argumentative manner or blindly contradicts me without the benefit of 10 years of education and active research in the subject then I will tee off on them every single time.

I have absolutely no problem with ignorance. People who are unwilling to accept that they are ignorant, on the other hand, are one of my pet peeves. Especially when the subject is physics, since we seem to get more than our fair share of cranks with the inability to listen to those who know better than them.
