I freakin' worked all day! Next holiday I am taking a vacation!
It sounds like quite a few people had grounds for owing you thanks for your efforts. I at least hope you received their kind words and thanks.

Not to compare, but I volunteered to almost singlehandedly clean up after a party we had at work on Thursday night, for 30 people. Friday was a day off, so I got up in the morning, hungover and all, and went and cleaned the place up and did most of the dishes. Only one of the three others who'd volunteered showed up - two hours late when most of the work was already done. She spent most of the remaining time complaining about how we were the only two there.

I have yet to hear a word of thanks from anyone, despite Saturday having being a regular working day again.

It was a nice party though.

      So why do it?

Maybe turn this around a bit.

You have a family that's there with you on Easter. You have a mother and father that you obviously get along with well enough to have dinner and also share Easter.

Not everyone has that Cartimandia. If you don't like it why bother?

I believe you are making assumptions that simply aren't there, Ben.

Sorry, I didn't really mean to sound so devastated and upset. It really wasn't an awful day at all. I was just very tired at the end of the day.

I did volunteer to do all that work, and yes, my family gets along very well. They did thank me and I wasn't upset about it. Easter is a very special time in my family, and we love getting together. It's one of the only times when we are all together and able to enjoy each other's company. I am lucky to be a good cook, so a lot is expected from me at our get togethers, but I enjoy it.

Plus, I had a solid milk chocolate Cadbury bunny to gnaw on. I ate it's tail first.

            That's what I thought.

I've cooked as well for the family outings, the whole nine yards, but it's a rare occasion that I get the opportunity.

I don't have a family of my own yet, so it gets tiresome cooking for one all the time.

Glad you had a good time.

My family usually got along well this was the first time I saw him and his new girlfriend get into a fight.
