I think that someone who has anger issues should deal with them, and then they can have better relationships.

But if you choose that you have a right to be angry and hurt people, (kids, drunk people whatever) then you won't help yourself.

That said, talking about people's abilities to be parents is not cool IMO, and I didn't think right before I said it wrong.

        Spec,

You are pretty much right about that. There I didn't disagree with you.

Officer Fired for Misconduct of Woman Taken into Custody
                36 comments

A Shreveport Lousiana police officer has been fired after an incident in which a female prisoner taken into custody on suspicion of DWI wound up lying on the police station floor in a pool of blood.

Much of what happened was recorded on a videotape, but there is a gap ofundetermined length. During that time, the woman was believed to have been injured. She said she was beaten up, the officer said she fell. The woman, Angie Garbarino of Shreveport, was argumentative when she was brought to the DWI unit's office last November. The videotape shows she did not want to listen to Officer Wiley Willis as he read her rights.

She was insistent on making a phone call and said so repeatedly. At one point, Garbarino mentioned the names of attorneys and a police officer she wanted to contact. She tried to leave the room but was stopped by the officer and then handcuffed, the videotape shows.

The situation escalated, and the videotape shows the officer push the woman against the wall; she fell to the floor crying, telling him not to touch her.

Seconds later, the tape is turned off. It is not known what happened while the tape was off, but when it was turned back on Garbarino was lying on the floor on her side in a pool of blood. Willis turns her on her back and tells her, "Lay down; don't move."

The officer leaves the room. Another officer came in shortly after that to
look at Garbarino and then left. At some point, a Fire Department ambulance crew was called. They took her to the hospital.

Garbarino's lawyer, Ron Miciotto, said she suffered a broken nose, a severe cut on her forehead, two broken teeth and bruises on her arms and shoulder. Pictures taken of her later show two severely bruised eyes, as well as other bruises.

Willis was fired earlier this month for what officials said was his handling of the incident. No criminal charges were filed accusing him of injuring the woman.

Garbarino faces trial on charges of DWI and hit and run driving. She will
fight them in court, Miciotto said.

The types of injuries and the turned off vidcam of course make his claims very believable that she just "fell"

Maybe she first fell with one eye against one of his his fists, then with the other eye, then with her head against the edge of table and then against some other objects, including his fists again and the floor.

No, she tried to escape, fell down the stairs, but then changed her mind, tried to return and fell back up.

JUSTICE! Stick it up your backside Snoopy!

The only thing that would make this sweeter would be for the ****er to actually get charged with police brutality, assault, tampering with evidence, false sworn testimony (the report), and anything else they can think of. Nothing worse then a bad cop and this bad cop needs to get no mercy. It's a gross violation of trust and he needs to pay.

What happened is a women got beat up by the people who are suppose to protect her. There's something wrong with the way cops are chosen and trained in out society. I don't see anything unreasonable about speaking out against it, especially at a place where people seem to think it's ok for the cop to do this sort of thing.

I think the wider issue is what Kid points out. Lots of tazing going on these days. Some people agree with thbem because "they didn't shut up" or "they didn't obey". To me, these are all pointless arguments. Unless we accept, that it is OK to tase people who you don't agree with. I personalyl think I don't want to be tased, so me talking against other incidents protects me and the people I happen to like.

To me it's not a technical issue. It's an issue of justice and what's right. I think we all have different opinion of what is right in any given situation. I think most of the tasing videos I've seen so far? All ****ed up.

I don't agree with violence, call it submission or control. I don't agree with it unless it is FOR protection. Then I agree, but outside that? Not OK. Includes especially state violence. It is about conforming to the power of what ever fatties there are sitting in their chairs at the moment. State is supposed to let people live, not to control them, that's my ideology anyway. We pay them, if the ROI is getting beaten up and control? The need for that given state is what again? I can get my neighbours to beat me up, I can buy my own taser and use it on myself if I want that. Or I can go and walk outside and tase random people, if I dont' happen to agree with them and they fail to respect my authority.

There's a divison between people. The other side respects violence, that is they dont' want to end up on the wrong side of it. Then again, you can't really decide that always, can you? Unless you conform time and again. Then there's peopel, like me, who only get more against the idea if it uses violence to promote it. So let's see more tasing. I'll be even more against it at the end of the day. If I'm tased? Sure, I might be submitted, but then you gain an enemy out of me.

This all said, I still believe majority are just fine and doing their job properly. Rotten eggs, they're everywhere. But these rotten eggs somehow enjoy support from keyboard warriors, something I find quite amazing.
