Who here has actually been supportive so far? I count zero.

The fact that the officer was fired instead of reprimanded or suspended pretty much shows that even the department thought he was out of line.

There you go he used too much force. He is now suffering the consequences of his actions. Which he should.

I still think she played a part in escalating it.

In most european countries cop brutalities seem to be rather rare compared to the USA (and if such brutalities occur they´re normally big in the headlines).
Of course it might be that the reports about police brutality in the USA are vastly exaggerated, but for me as a foreigner who never has been in the USA it sounds to me llike I should trust american policemen much less than their european counterparts.
I don't trust any Americans. Certainly not police officers. There's a lot of sickos in this country.

I didn't bring Doneagal into this.
Sure you did. Your title is right there.

What happened to you? You were never so puffed up and self righteous before.
I don't think police brutality is something to gloat about.

I think it's disgusting and I hope they both get sentenced.

And I'm not the first to ask what happened to you Oerdin. You've changed, and I'm curious why.

Sorry. I thought it was Oerdin who started the thread.

                        My apologies.

The room appears to be a intoxalizer (where is spell check?) and the cop seems to be attempting to do field sobriety at the begining.

For the most part, the woman has some sense in her because she asks if he called a wrecker for her car. Most people wouldn't think of this (especially while drunk), which to me indicated that she has probably been in this position before. What does this mean? It means this woman has some type of histoy of interaction with cops (I am not says those interactions were good or bad, just that its there).

Now she also keeps demanding a phone call. You do get to make a phone call, however, the time and place of making that phone call(s) is at the discrection of the booking officers (if placed under arrest) at the jail. Cooperate with them and you'll get your phone call. Continue to be beligerent with them, and you'll sit until you cooperate.

The things that I am unsure about in the video is the layout outside of the Intoxilizer room. What is out that door? Is every attempt to leave the room an attempt to escape (BTW, use of force to prevent escape is authorized)? What kind of camera is that? My guess is that it's just a simple camcorder on a tripod. Must be a small department. Not that that makes any difference.

The largest part of incriminating evidence is the fact that the officer shut it off. I can think of no legitimate reason to shut it off. In fact, if placed in a similar situation, I would prefer to have it on to protect myself against lawsuits from an obviously beligerent subject.

The injuries she suffered and the fact that the cop turned off the camera to me are sufficent evidence that the officer did indeed act out of order and should have been, at the minimum, fired (even if this was the first time anything negitive happened in his carreer).

BTW, the reason I would not have tased her is because I could have easily over powered her and restrained her without imminent danger of harm to either of us (and she should have been handcuffed from the begining).
