        Meh.

Every day I have to deal with people who believe in God(s). Same difference really.
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

Are there any religious denominations which claim that the moon landings were faked?

I'm not aware that dogs are even mentioned in the Koran. Pigs, yes, but I don't think there is any scriptural condemnation of dogs in the Koran. I could be wrong, does anyone have more information on this?

While there is an element of realism in that view, there is also a slightly unhealthy cynicism which can ultimately breed political apathy and stagnation.

They are mentioned, but not condemned. The dog has traditionally been seen as unclean in Arab culture, but most moderate Muslims have no problem with dogs.

What the dickens does it matter if the guy doesn't believe anyone walked on the moon? If it took you weeks to learn this, he obviously doesn't make his disbelief a prominent part of his life. He's not going to mail bombs to NASA (or its Canadian equivalent, whatever that is--a rocket powered by beaver pelts and crappy music, maybe?). Let it ride.

As for the religion part...what was the code for the "snoring" smiley? I don't say "respect my beliefs," I just say what they really mean when they say that, namely, "I don't care what you think. We stop stoning you and this is how you repay us?"

I for one, Elok, am hugely appreciative that you've stopped stoning us, and I think you're all splendid fellows for it.

                              Many thanks.

It is also time for religions to put up or shut up. They all say that they hold the answers to life, not to mention the afterlife. But Bolivia is 95% Roman Catholic; Tuvalu is 98% Protestant; Mongolia is 98% Buddhist; Afghanistan, lovely Afghanistan, is 99% Muslim. Do any of these strike you as being exceptionally happy and successful countries?

                                Why not cite Malta?

Seriously, though you are left with one of two paths. If it is true that some beliefs are wrong, then the challenge is to figure out why those beliefs are wrong and which ones are right. I completely agree with you about moral relativism, and it is one of the greatest problems of today. Yes, not all ideas are equal, the problem is which ones are right?

I'm not sure what your beef is with Catholicism. Look around you. How many of the schools and the universities in Canada were originally built by Catholics?
