If I recall correctly, I think they were seen after the island vanished, so they're in the middle of nowhere.

You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

I'll have to rewatch. I'm pretty sure after the vanishing act, the only perspective we got was from the heli, which did not spot the Zodiac.

I checked it out again on the TiVo, and I think they moved with the island.

Which is a good thing. It puts Daniel back with Miles and C.S. Lewis. Also five more redshirts to kill off in the next season.

          • Claire was last seen in Jacob's cabin with Christian. Dead? Mostly dead? How? Unclear.
She was also in Kate's dream/vision. Maybe Jacob is using Claire too.

Ben somehow discovers how Nadia dies--or flat out lies--and gains Sayid as a weapon against Widmore. He has also vowed vengence for Alex, and plans on killing Penny. He confronts Jack after Locke's death, instructing him that they all must go back, including Locke. It's not entirely clear who is included in that--Des? Walt? Frank? Not is it clear why they must go back--that is likely to be the central question of the next season.
Maybe he is using the Oceanic six to get to Desmond?

            • ...and thus to Penny, you mean?

He wants to use them all to fulfill his revenge? I can't believe I'm saying this, giving that it is Lost we're talking about, but that seems to be a stretch...

                • I watched the most recent 6 episodes this weekend - and I thought they were pretty good.

Time to review my pointless predictions.

It might make more sense if Penny's search for Desmond (probably using Widmore's cash) threw up info about the island, which generated his interest as a businessman. Then the implication would be that Ben faked the 835 crash to keep people away from the island.
There is more than meets the eye here, but this doesn't seem the right explanation. One of the interesting mysteries is the episode where Widmore says that everything Ben has he took from him.

                    1) The sixth man is Locke. Sawyer dies on the island saving Jack.
Well Sawyer did jump out of the plane thinking he would save the others. I'm taking a half point.

                    True, but still unanswered.

Unclear, so I'll roll this one over.

                    4) The last season will be about this.
Looks like the 'potential future' theory is holding up.

IIRC, the writers have already confirmed that the flash forwards are the future. And the future is fixed.

Not to mention that would make the FF pointless.

                        • They are 'real' for the current timeline, but I find it hard to believe they are going to go back and that timeline remains the same, with Jin dying (probably) and Nadia/Locke dying (definitely).

Plus there are all the clues that they can somehow change whatever bad thing happened on this island.

I'd say I'm still in with a chance.

                          • I heard a rumor that Locke's death is not as clear cut as the FF has it seem. Supposedly he's supposed to be a Christ like character.

Of course, it's probably a lie.

Dead characters aren't really dead on Lost, like Christian Shepard.
